OEG Energy Group Ltd has opened a new office hub in Edinburgh, which will work to drive the expansion of Scotland’s wind energy sector by a further 27.6GW. The location was chosen due to its links to the North Sea, port infrastructure and supply chain. It also follows the recent creation of the company’s new headquarters in Aberdeen.

Scottish Renewables welcomed the new hub, highlighting the important role it will play in the renewable energy supply chain. This was echoed by OEG Chief Executive, John Heiton who said, ‘This latest strategic investment in infrastructure and technology reinforces our long-term commitment to supporting Scotland and the UK’s renewables sector.’
Wind power is already the fastest-growing renewable energy source in Scotland and enjoys significant support from the Scottish government. In December 2024 it was announced that the Scottish government would invest a record £150 million in growing the offshore wind sector and providing thousands of jobs.
With a team of just 6 people currently running the Edinburgh hub, OEG expect to quadruple this in the near future. This drive, along with investment from government, highlights the ever-expanding job market in sustainable energy.
