Renewable Energy Institute Course Taster Session

The Renewable Energy Institute (REI) offers a wide range of state-of-the-art Renewable Energy training courses. The courses are suitable for anyone who would like to pursue a career or progress further within this field. Whether you are an individual who would like to learn how renewable energy technologies work, in the management sector and would like to gain a better understanding of the wider context (e.g., policies, legislation, finance, environmental impacts, etc.), or just have a personal interest in the industry, the REI has various courses available for you! There are no prerequisites for enrolment as courses are taught at entry-level and build to more advanced topics on the subject area of each module. A reasonable standard of education is expected alongside a keen interest in renewable and sustainable energy. Otherwise, we have no formal requirements for enrolment.

The REI is a fully accredited centre for professional development training specifying in renewable and sustainable energy. All of the Renewable Energy Institute’s CPD (Continuous Professional Development) accredited courses are designed to support your career development and offer participants the opportunity to achieve the internationally recognised Galileo Master Certificate, which is held by individuals from over 150 countries worldwide. The REI is the official and only awarding body of the GMC (Galileo Master Certificate).

With the Accredited Master in Renewable Energy Award, the REI provides access to a selection of 15 accredited renewable energy courses for you to choose from. This option is the perfect way to achieve an in-depth overview of the sector as a whole and to expand your knowledge of specific technologies.

All courses are available Online, On-demand so you can study when it suits you best. We also deliver some of our courses in Live Virtual Classrooms throughout the year.

The Online On-Demand courses provide flexibility for you to study whenever it works best for you. They consist of step-by-step learning through practical videos that you can review as many times as you wish within your enrolment period; presentations, and additional resources provided by the lecturer, together with self-study and research. The exams for the internationally recognised Galileo Master Certificate will be taken online from your own location. When you are ready, you will book your choice of exam time slot from the available options.

Below are the timeframes of enrolment for Distance Learning Courses:

• Standalone course, 3-month enrolment period
• Expert Certificate (3 courses), 6-month enrolment period
• Full Master Award (12-15 courses), 18-month enrolment period

The Live Virtual Classroom courses feature 1- 2 full days (9am – 5pm UK time) of interaction and networking with the lecturer and other delegates via Zoom. The exams for the internationally recognised Galileo Master Certificate will be taken online, at the end of the course. Available Live Virtual Classroom dates will be noted on each course page on the REI website.

Whether you study Online, On-demand or in the Live Virtual Classroom, the content of the course materials, the exams and the overall Galileo Master Certificate remains the same. The only difference is the format in which the course is delivered. If you enrol onto an Expert Certificate Pathway or the full Master in Renewable Energy Award, you will be able to select a mixture of Online, On-demand courses and Live Virtual Classroom options. The REI also offers bespoke training packages to individuals, organisations, councils, and governments, to meet all training requirements.
