REI LAUNCHES CARBON FINANCE COURSE

The award-winning Renewable Energy Institute (REI) has launched a 2-day Carbon Finance training course for professionals and individuals. The course aims to teach participants how to apply financial principles to the Renewable Energy sector, particularly net-zero projects.

Large-scale investments are being injected into Renewable Energy worldwide as nations realise the importance of reaching net zero. It’s therefore vital that organisations report accurately on their carbon footprint and uphold solid carbon-reduction commitments. These businesses need trained individuals to manage the carbon output of their activities. From carbon lifecycle assessments to ensuring solid CSR efforts, these individuals will ensure safe financial planning for lower carbon emissions.

Following 47 years of expertise in training in Renewable Energy Technologies, the REI – known for its green conferences in partnership with the United Nations and worldwide universities – is launching its brand new Carbon Finance training course. 

The course focuses on how we can use business functions and financial instruments to respond to the effects of climate change. It will outline how to develop and create high-level carbon management strategies and allow you to gain a thorough understanding of carbon markets and climate investment. Participants who complete this course will be equipped to develop a career in many disciplines from consultancy to policy-writing to climate finance. All participants will have the opportunity to sit the exam to receive the internationally recognised Galileo Certificate.

The Carbon Finance Live Virtual Classroom course will take place over Tuesday 7th – Wednesday 8th June, 2022. The course will take place 9am-5pm UK time, with the remote exam for the Galileo Master Certificate taken at the end of the second day.

Following the extensive success of its Accredited Expert Certificates, the REI is proud to announce that the new Carbon Finance course will be part of the Carbon Finance Consultant Expert Certificate via distance learning. Participants will have the opportunity to study this course alongside Renewable Energy Management and Finance, and their choice of specialisation course, to become Carbon Finance Consultant Experts.

Participants who enrol onto the Institute’s Accredited Master in Renewable Energy Award will have the opportunity to attend the Carbon Finance course as part of their learning pathway, and count the course as one of their required 13 accredited courses.
