UNIVERSITIES - ACCREDITED TRAINING - ONLINE LEARNING
The Renewable Energy Institute (REI) has developed a Global Network of REI Representatives and Ambassadors which currently spreads across three continents and is expanding all the time! We have a number of rewarding volunteer opportunities that can help you gain self-confidence and practice new skills.
Over the past year our team of international volunteers has helped the REI to promote best practice and knowledge sharing in renewable energy across the globe.
Examples of the activities our Volunteers have been undertaking include:
• Working with local government organisations to share knowledge on renewable energy
• Working with local companies to develop new sustainable renewable energy technologies,
e.g. Solar Tree (see image, right)
• Writing opinion pieces and technical journal articles on renewable energy and energy efficiency
• Contributing creatively to our social media channels and newsletter
• Networking to build global partnerships between the REI and local organisations
• Helping to co-ordinate and introduce REI training to local organisations
REI Volunteers also have the opportunity to be appointed REI Ambassadors by the Committee, for those volunteers who show outstanding and continued commitment towards the goal of promoting best practice in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
“I am an Electrical Engineer with a passion in Sustainable Development in the Energy sector. I have been a volunteer with the REI from July 2013, contributing towards raising awareness and best practices in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sector. This award of ambassadorship gives me an opportunity to reflect on the contributions I have made to REI. It has provided me with motivation, enthusiasm and determination to achieve my professional goals and contribute positively to the social and economic lives of communities.
Not only is it a proud moment for me personally, but one which helps to acknowledge the importance of pioneering Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in today’s world of energy production and consumption.”
Would you like the satisfaction of helping to promote best practice in the renewable energy community whilst enhancing your CV at the same time?
Become part of the REI Global network of volunteers as an REI Representative in your home country. We are always looking for enthusiastic professionals and students with an interest in environmental issues, renewable energy and energy efficiency who would like to join this growing network.
