There has never been a better time to expand your knowledge and gain the necessary skills to move into the Renewable Energy sector. This rapidly expanding industry requires individuals with experience and the relevant skills, both in the UK and overseas. The intensive 2-day Renewable Energy and Management and Finance course at the REI provides key information about trends and developments in the sector, required to take advantage of opportunities in the Renewable Energy industry and advance your career in 2019. The Expert Lecturer for this course shares his outlook for the sector in 2019: There is huge uncertainty in the market as to how renewable energy will grow, and most importantly how it will be funded. One certainty is that Renewable technologies now have a huge role to play, with estimates suggesting that they will make up 40% of UK energy supply by 2030. This is in stark contrast to the 7% achieved in 2014. Renewable Energy is now key to projects of all types and sizes; and companies are looking for those with expert knowledge to advise on the sustainability, feasibility and life cycle of green energy options. The key to achieving this 40% target is to find solutions that work both technically and financially. Government incentives remain, however the most popular schemes will close (for example the Feed-in-Tariff closing in 2019). Contracts for Difference (CfDs), Green Bonds, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) have now become key instruments and mechanisms for attracting inward investment, reducing risk and ensuring a long-term return on investment.
BBC– Ben Yankson “This course was very interactive with clear delivery from the lecturer, to serve as a basis for a career change into Renewables.”
