Greta Thunberg Awarded with Honorary GMC

Following the announcement of the 2020s as the Decade of Renewable Energy this January, the Renewable Energy Institute has awarded Greta Thunberg with an Honorary GMC in recognition of her outstanding work in Renewable Energy and Environmentalism. Greta has been awarded her Honorary GMC by the Renewable Energy Institute due to her proactive approach in promoting the safeguarding of our environment, as well as the promotion of the use of Renewable Energy. Greta joins recipients from over 150 countries worldwide who have been awarded the GMC as evidence of their expertise in the Renewable Energy industry. The Renewable Energy Institute commends Greta on her advocacy for the use of Renewable Energy as a means of addressing the climate crisis, as well as her international outlook on the issue. Greta has spoken at the United Nations on a variety of occasions, drawing attention to the need for countries, companies and individuals to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Greta’s work is in line with the Renewable Energy Institute’s mission to promote and teach best practice in the Renewable Energy and Sustainability sectors. The REI collaborates with the United Nations – UNEP to promote the use of Green Energy technology, and awards the Galileo Master Certificate to students who pass the exam held at courses in Europe, the USA and online.
