Europe & America cooperate to upskill workforce

This December, 196 countries will meet to sign a new global agreement on Climate Change, with expectations of an important and lasting agreement due to the commitment of major world leaders, including the USA. A huge contribution will be required from the Renewable Energy industry worldwide in order to reach the agreed global objectives.

In this respect, the REI Accredited Center (REI) has now created an important American-European Cooperation to support Training and Education and upskill the global workforce. The Cooperation – the first of its kind in the Renewable Energy sector – combines the specialist knowledge of industry experts and highly-regarded university academics to provide high quality training courses and conferences in universities worldwide, with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme. The industry must expand to drive forward this growth and upskill workers from outside the sector. Additionally, employees pursuing a career within the Renewable Energy sector will need support to continue their professional development and keep pace with technological innovations in the industry. Education and Training must therefore remain a priority for individuals working within and affiliated with the renewable energy sector. The REI has increased its training provisions in the United States of America, both online and in classroom training seminars. This is a continuation of the work that the REI has done for the past 40 years: promoting best practice in renewable energy and energy efficiency, through training courses and conferences organised with the United Nations Environment Programme, and a strong network of relationships with global authorities and researchers in the field. The REI works with major universities worldwide in order to provide specialist advice to individuals who are looking to progress their careers in the Renewable Energy sector, using university lecturers and practical experts with at least two decades of experience in the industry to deliver the training. The classroom sessions are consultancy-based, where delegates can ask questions and get advice from the Expert Lecturer. At the end of the courses, delegates are able to pursue their own Renewable Energy projects, with the help of the knowledge gained on the courses. Training individuals through the American-European Cooperation will in turn provide the skilled workforce necessary in order to support the global targets for a clean, sustainable future.
