The Renewable Energy Institute (REI) bridges the gap between industry and academia by bringing together renowned University lecturers and leading organisations in the sector, in order to support knowledge sharing and best practices in the global Renewable Energy Industry. The REI has provided bespoke training to organisations worldwide in order to support this mission and recently designed a bespoke 2-day training workshop for the global financial news publication, Acuris, in order to strengthen their expertise in Renewable Energy Finance. The REI has since spoken to Dermot McCloskey regarding his experience on the course. Dermot is the co-head of Research at Acuris’ Inframation Group.
Why did Acuris select the Renewable Energy Institute to provide their bespoke training? We selected the Renewable Energy Institute because we were looking to enhance our understanding of the regulatory changes affecting the renewable energy sector. As a financial news publication, we were impressed by the comprehensive structure of the course, the insight offered by expert industry trainers and the fact it was tailored to the project finance sector.
“We were impressed by the comprehensive structure of the course, the insight offered by expert industry trainers and the fact it was tailored to the project finance sector.”
How did the bespoke training benefit the attending delegates? The delegates were greatly impressed by our trainer’s deep industry knowledge, his ability to simplify and contextualise complex matters and how he continued to draw-out relevant details which would assist with our work. How will the knowledge and skills offered by the course support you and your colleagues in future projects? We report on the financing and regulation of infrastructure and renewable energy assets. Having a deeper understanding of how these transactions are structured and the regulatory environment in which they operate enables us to ask more incisive questions, improving our editorial content. In your opinion, what are the benefits for organisations who arrange in-house bespoke training sessions for their employees? The course was flexible and tailored to our needs. I would highly recommend for anyone in the industry.
