REI provides essential Renewable Energy training to energy company SGN

This month, the Renewable Energy Institute (REI) delivered Renewable Energy training to energy distribution company SGN, providing an essential update on the latest Renewable Energy technologies. SGN’s Hydrogen 100 project aims to reduce carbon output and progress towards the 2050 UK carbon target by reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 80% of 1990 levels. The REI is proud to promote knowledge sharing and best practice in relation to all Green Energy Technologies, and works with Leading Experts, universities and associations worldwide, including the United Nations UNEP, to distribute the latest research, information and training to individuals around the world. As the Renewable Energy industry continues to grow rapidly, organisations and professionals are equipping themselves with expert training from the REI in order to take advantage of the latest opportunities in the sector. The training was provided by one of the REI’s expert lecturers, who also teaches the REI’s leading training course on Energy Storage in London. The lecturer drew from a wide variety of accredited REI courses, and detailed how the latest Renewable Energy technology can help the decarbonisation process, including:
- Energy Storage, including electrolysers and hydrogen
- Solar Photovoltaic technology
- Wind Power: onshore and offshore
- Wave and Tidal Power technology
“The course has developed my understanding into more specifically how renewables operate: I liked all the examples that supported the information.” – SGN Innovation Project Officer, Course Attendee
The REI’s expert lecturer detailed how SGN can use Renewable Energy technologies to reduce the carbon output of heating in the UK, drawing on his decades of experience in the Renewable Energy industry. Mark Wheeldon, SGN Hydrogen Programme Manager, noted, “The course tutor and materials were excellent: the course was well delivered and enjoyable.” The Renewable Energy Institute is the leading provider of Renewable Energy courses in the UK, and has welcomed course participants from organisations including Amazon, the BBC, KPMG and the Ford Motor Company.
Renewable Energy Institute courses are designed to improve the knowledge of professionals at all levels of expertise: as SGN Project Officer Lorna Archer said, “I have gained a wider knowledge of renewable technologies & technical understanding. The content was interesting and engaging, and the printed slides helped my note taking.” Course participants also have the opportunity to enhance their career prospects and sit the exam for the Galileo Master Certificate, the internationally recognised award for the Renewable Energy industry. If you would like to receive expert teaching on how you can integrate, finance and assess the benefits of Renewable Energy in your projects, part-funding is available for the Accredited Renewable Energy Management and Finance course, taking place in London. As well as earning the internationally recognised Galileo Master Certificate during the course, participants have the opportunity to network with other participants, as well as the Expert Lecturer.
