REI Edinburgh – a decade at the forefront of the Renewable Energy Revolution

The Renewable Energy Institute (REI) Edinburgh has spent the past 10 years providing training and education in Renewable Energy in 150 countries worldwide, via classroom courses at leading UK universities and through the innovative Online Learning platform, building on the Renewable Energy Institute’s 45 years of experience providing expert, intensive teaching to professionals around the world.
Over the past decade, REI Edinburgh has forged partnerships with leading universities in the UK and USA, including Edinburgh Napier University, University of London and The George Washington University, in order to deliver the popular classroom courses.

Over the past decade, REI Edinburgh has welcomed participants from a wide range of organisations spanning from the World Bank, governments and UN organisations; to renowned large corporations such as Mitsubishi, Ford, the BBC and the NHS; as well as medium and small enterprises who used the knowledge learnt via the REI to create leading Renewable Energy projects around the world.
REI Edinburgh have arranged bespoke, in-house courses for leading institutions (such as the BBC, pictured right) on how to integrate and promote Green Energy & Technology. Companies from around the world have come to the UK to receive expert training from REI lecturers, including corporations looking to transition to Renewable & Green Energy.
REI courses have helped Energy professionals design, install and fund Renewable Energy projects all over the world. REI alumni have helped rural African populations access electricity to substantially improve their standard of living, and established large scale installations to help the transition from oil and gas to Renewable Energy.

In 2011, REI Edinburgh was delighted to host a preliminary event for the 14th European Conference in Renewable Energy at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in partnership with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the intergovernmental International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). Topics discussed at the conference in Edinburgh concerned renewable energy, whereas the main part of the conference, held in Milan later that year, covered the latest technology in refrigeration and air conditioning, also with a focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The REI Edinburgh office would like to thank our network of experts, our course lecturers, our valued team members and our alumni across the globe for making the past 10 years such a success. We look forward to providing training to more professionals in the decade ahead, staying at the forefront of the Renewable Energy Revolution.
